(New York, NY) – StandWithUs, the non-profit Israel education organization today announced that 40 student leaders from 40 campuses will launch the Emerson Fellowship, an annual program that selects and trains student leaders from campuses across the United States and Canada to run events THAT EDUCATE STUDENTS ABOUT ISRAEL. http://standwithuscampus.com/?page_id=45

The Fellows will begin by attending SWU’s November student advocacy conference “Israel in Focus” to be held in Santa Monica, CA. Through lectures and workshops, they will learn skills and facts to help them clarify Israel’s image and combat anti-Israel rhetoric and stereotypes. Throughout the year, the Fellows will build relationships with their campus groups and individuals to create informative, balanced and educational events. They will report back to SWU campus staff to evaluate program effectiveness and network among themselves to ensure consistency.

Dani Klein, StandWithUs’ Campus Director stated, “the Emerson Fellowship will strengthen Israel-related programming on these 38 campuses, as well as placing eyes and ears for our organization on the ground. Many of these campuses including UC Irvine, MIT, Columbia, University of Michigan, among others are known for their anti-Israel sentiment. We are thrilled to have a strong presence that will present Israel’s side of the story.”
